About BUFADESO
Bunda Farmers Development Support
Organization (BUFADESO) is a member-based local Non-Governmental Organisation
which was formulated on 27TH February 2012 by groups that were
working with Vi Agroforestry. The initiatives of starting the organization were
to establish a famer-groups district network to ensure sustainability of activities
implementation after Vi Agroforestry has phased out working in Mara region. BUFADESO was registered
at The Ministry of Community Development, Gender and Children on 4th
day of December, 2013 with registration number 10NGO/00006696 under Act number
24, section 12(2).
BUFADESO
envisions being a strong organisation that will bring sustainable
agricultural development to Bunda district farmers; with a mission of empowering
farmers on improved, profitable and sustainable agriculture and capacitating local
communities of various developmental interventions like agricultural producing
and marketing, microfinance (VSLA and VICOBA), study groups, women groups,
PLWHIV, tree planting, entrepreneurship and agroforestry. BUFADESO organization
has been working through partnership with Vi AGROFORESTRY - a Swedish NGO, improving livelihoods of small-holder farmer families
through agroforestry and sustainable agriculture land management.
Initiative for conservation of Mara-Serengeti
Trans-boundary Ecosystem (SEMA project)
is a EU-sponsored project that will be implemented in cooperation with Vi
Agroforestry and other co-applicants. It has an objective of
contributing to the conservation of Mara-Serengeti transboundary ecosystems
through empowering local communities in Tanzania and Kenya to adopt sustainable
and diversified livelihoods and to promote regional dialogue, cooperation and
community involvement in wildlife law enforcement and management of the
Mara-Serengeti Transboundary Conservation Area. The SEMA Project Coordinator
will be based in Bunda, with extensive travelling within the Mara-Serengeti
region. She/he will have the overall responsibility for the successful
initiation, planning and implementation of the BUFADESO-SEMA project.
Job Responsibilities and Duties
·To be responsible for the implementation and quality assurance of the
project with BUFADESO. She/he will coordinate and cooperate with the Vi
Agroforestry and other organizations on required technical support and
facilitate staffs and other human resources towards the achievement of results
in Mara region Tanzania.
·To coordinate and manage project activities that
include action plans,
resources, Monitoring and Evaluation, timeframe,
equipment, information and budget for project implementation.
·Liaise and engage with stakeholders and decision makers to identify and
define requirements on wildlife and natural resource conservation and
management.
·Stay updated of the national context with regards to wildlife and
conservation law enforcement and management of TFCA.
·Prepare and timely submit to the monthly, quarterly
and annual performance and financial reports
·Ensure European Union, Vi Agroforestry and BUFADESO standards and
requirements are met
·Provide expertise and technical support to organization staff on project
implementation.
·Organize and implement trainings and meetings and facilitate workshops.
·To engage and liaise with associates and contractors.
·Perform any other project related duties as directed
by the BUFADESO CSO
Key Qualifications
and Experience
·Bachelor’s degree in Wildlife management, Natural resource management or related field and at least three years
of relevant and proven working experience in related field, one year of which
was in a supervisory capacity.
· Knowledge and skills in design, development,
management, monitoring and evaluation of projects, human resource management.
·Demonstrated ability to analyse problems and develop
solutions, initiatives and drive to achieve good results.
·Experience working with civil society organizations and partnership
engagement in foreign aid especially knowledge of development cooperation and
experience in European Union funds management.
·Must have experience working on donor funded and
multi-stakeholder projects involving the central and local governments,
donor(s), civil society organisations and rural communities.
·Skills and work experience in advocacy and networking.
·This position requires strong oral communication, negotiation,
analytical, listening and presentation skills together with excellent command
of written and spoken English and Swahili.
·Must have working knowledge and experience in use of computer
and essential packages.
·Tanzanian nationals only.
